ELEMENTARY CLASSES

Each student is supplied their own locker to store their winter clothing, gym uniforms, lunches and snacks. Lockers are located conveniently close to your student's classroom. The elementary and Montessori classrooms are bright and cheerful. All classrooms are equipped with sufficient references and materials so that students are not clamoring to share study books. All classrooms have large expansive windows to allow natural lighting and fresh air in nicer weather. It also allows studies of weather conditions and views of winter scenes capes while staying warm and cozy. In the hotter spring and summer days, the entire school is air conditioned to ensure students have the optimum conditions for study.
Junior students learn cooperation and respect while working together at tables. This encourages sharing and mutual support of the students while allowing for individual work space for independent studies. Staff and students are encouraged to decorate their classrooms with related study material and projects developed over the year.
Senior students move between three classrooms to experience a larger societal mix. They gain experience of moving among different teachers to study varied subjects. This helps prepare the student for the larger community that they will encounter in high school. The students can pass from one classroom to another without having to enter the hallway. This minimizes any disruption to other classes and ensures better security for the student. A program is in place to make sure the location of any one student is easily known at all times. |
