Enrolment Procedure - New AMS Students
FOR ALL AMS PROGRAMS:
- New students may be admitted at any time during the school year if space is available.
- Before your child's enrolment at AMS is confirmed, all cheques, including deposit and post-dated cheques for tuition and the Before and After School Programs must be received.
TODDLER PROGRAM - STUDENTS 18 MONTHS TO 3 YEARS OLD
- Children do not need to be toilet trained. A nap time is provided in the afternoon.
- Children and parents meet with the Director of Admissions prior to acceptance.
CASA PROGRAM -STUDENTS 2 ½ TO 6 YEARS OLD
- Children must be toilet trained, and do not require a nap during the school day.
- Application to AMS must be made prior to the child's fourth birthday.
- Children and parents meet with the Director of Admissions prior to acceptance.
ELEMENTARY PROGRAMS - STUDENTS IN GRADES 1 TO 8
- All elementary applicants must provide a recent report card that indicates solid academic performance and ability.
- Parents and children meet with the Director of Admissions and/or the Principal.
- An entrance test is required for students entering Grades 3 to 8.
AMS Montessori Elementary Program - Grades 1 to 8
- Ideally the applicant has attended a Casa program for at least three years.
- In special circumstances, consideration will be given to a student who has completed less time in a recognized Casa program, once a consultation with the parent and the student has been conducted.
Enhanced Ministry of Education Elementary Program - Grades 1 to 4
- Students may apply without previous Montessori training.
RE-ENROLMENT PROCEDURE:
Many AMS programs have a waiting list. Unfortunately, we are unable to hold a classroom spot for returning students unless the following is received prior to the deadline date for re-enrolment.
* All paperwork (as listed on the front page of the AMS Enrolment Application Form)
* All cheques, including deposit, and post-dated cheques for tuition and the Before and After School Program.
