Our School’s History:

The Aurora Montessori and Private School story began in 1989 when the founder and Principal of Aurora Montessori and Private School, Sharon Kashani, rented a picturesque old farmhouse on the corner of Bayview Avenue and Wellington Street in Aurora. Twelve students were accommodated during Aurora Montessori and Private School’s first year.
The AMS program became well-known in the community as a valued, unique cycle of learning, designed to take advantage of a child’s sensitive years. Four portable classrooms were added and the school blossomed, with over 120 children enrolled in the Casa program and elementary grades one to three.
In September 1998, a state-of-the-art facility on 14 beautiful rolling acres, at the corner of St. John’s Sideroad and Industrial Parkway, became the new home of Aurora Montessori and Private School. Children from 18 months to 14 years old enjoy the advantage of an enriched learning environment.
Aurora Montessori and Private School is a member of the CCMA (Canadian Council of Montessori Administrators). |
